McGregor Park Courtesy Dock
Opened in September 2006, the 260-foot long courtesy dock provides Cumberland River
travelers an opportunity to stop in Clarksville. The dock's ramp connects directly to the
Cumberland RiverWalk, giving boaters access to the RiverCenter, McGregor Park and downtown
Clarksville via the Pedestrian Overpass.
RiverWalk
The Cumberland RiverWalk, a component of Clarksville's Upland Trails Master Plan,
meanders along the Cumberland River for approximately .3 miles, anchoring the 13.2-acre
McGregor Park. The lighted walkway offers park benches, picnic and playground areas,
performance stages, an amphitheater and a pedestrian overpass that links the river to
historic downtown Clarksville. Used by citizens and visitors year-round, the walkway
continues on to Valley Brook Park, totaling 1.7 miles. The RiverWalk and RiverCenter
project received the International Clearwater Award for riverfront development.
RiverCenter
The Cumberland RiverCenter pavilion is the showpiece of the RiverWalk project.
The facility is used as a venue for a host of local events and outdoor festivals.
The Clarksville Walking Overpass
The Pedestrian Overpass serves as the primary linkage connecting the river district to
Clarksville's historic downtown. The overwalk allows pedestrian traffic to cross over a
five-lane state highway.
As the River Flows
As the River Flows is a permanent exhibit housed in the Cumberland RiverCenter featuring
a 12-panel chronological history of the River and its significance tot he development of
Clarksville as one of America's great Southern river towns.
